Steve Morrell serves as Chief Financial Officer for G2 Integrated Solutions, where he oversees the Finance division and works with other members of the management team to ensure the company is always positioned for financial success. In this role, Steve assesses and manages the function of business as it relates to the company’s financial health, including cash flow, client invoicing, AP/AR, operational expenses, taxation, budgeting, and financial/strategic planning.
Steve brings over 25 years of experience in various finance roles, including as CFO for multiple privately-owned service companies, where he focused on improving and leveraging financial reporting to better financial performance and improve working capital management. Industry experience includes aviation, building materials, and industrial and energy services.
Most recently, Steve served as CFO for Energy Fishing & Rental Services, Inc., where he led strategic evaluations of business and directed initiatives to reduce costs and rationalize business to enable successful restructuring and change of ownership. Steve’s time there included the navigation of COVID-19, when the company experienced a sharp downturn in profits. He implemented cost reductions and effectively managed working capital to fund operations, also securing a PPP loan to enable continued business.
Steve spent several years as CFO for Carber, Inc., where he built a scalable and more analytical organization to enable the eventual sale of the company. He implemented an analytical framework focused on product line and customer profitability, job cost margins tracking and analysis, and improved forecasting/reporting to increase profitability. Steve improved data capture and data flow by implementing an electronic field ticketing system and procurement system that created real-time performance management. He also established a monthly review process and upgraded forecasting methods, improving communication between and alignment of the management team.
Steve earned a degree in Economics from the University of Rochester as well as an MBA from Duke University. He started his career in the US Navy and served multiple tours, including as Chief Engineer on a destroyer.
